About Safeguard the Children
Safeguard the Children is a comprehensive program designed to promote child safety and prevent child sexual abuse, which
was initiated in all dioceses in the United States at the direction of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
There is a Safeguard the Children (STC) Committee in each parish which helps to implement the objectives of the USCCB “Charter
for the Protection of Children and Young People” (2005).
Safeguard the Children Committee
St. Genevieve Parish has an active STC Committee chaired by parishioner Sergio Benavides. Other
members include, Fr. Alden Sison (Pastor), Irene Pera (DRE), Sr. Teresa Lynch (Elementary Principal), JP Fernandez (Youth
Minister), Rebecca Chan (Director of Administrative Services), Michelle Garcia (High School) , Eva Fernandez
(Lector) and other concerned Parishioners.
